Birthday Affirmations

Our laughter . . . Friends laughter . . . echos softly and loudly across the room.  Smiles flash and eyes crinkle as conversation ebbs and flows around the table.  Tender jokes are traded among us and we take them in the spirit that they are given . . . Fun!

One of the best parts of our birthday celebrations are our ‘words of affirmation’ to one another.  Better than presents they are gathered and taken to heart.  These are the gifts that our sister friends see in us.    Nods are given as the words are shared because we see our friends in the same light.   These words matter.  We write them down, so at other moments, we can take them out and reread them and know that we are important to others and loved by treasured friends.  These are the people that remind us who we are and who we want to emulate.  They keep us grounded and hold us up as needed.  These are the friends that we are unafraid to share tears, laughter, and hugs with.  We aren’t worried that we will be judged or that these words will be shared with people outside our circle.  These are Godly women who encourage each other to grow, lift each other up in prayer, and share wisdom with one another.

Smiles and laughter bounce back and forth as cards are exchanged, read, and shared aloud.  Hours race by as we visit and love on one another.  Luckily for us, these moments are repeated throughout the year as we share our special birthday celebrations together.

I love you my sweet sister friends!

“Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can laugh at the time to come.”

Proverbs 31:25

I love to write and share my life. I hope you enjoy reading it and in some small way it adds to your life. Smile, laugh, or think what you like about my life. My joy is writing.
