I’ve been thinking about it all day. Now as I wait for sleep that never seems to come, I’m anticipating being back in the classroom. Not yet with students, but social distancing and doing Zoom meetings from my classroom and tech training.

But the best yet, seeing FRIENDS! Work friends that are life friends! I can’t even describe how excited I am to see familiar faces and meet new ones.

School this year will be filled with strange and unusual conditions that I can’t even imagine how they will work in an elementary school full of children, but I’m going in with a positive attitude. Flexibility and optimism are two important tools that have to be part of the school code.

The ‘hows’ of how a school will work with over three hundred 4th graders in one building moving with social distancing and masks is mind boggling.

What I do have faith in is the teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, and other staff that are willing to go forth and make learning work.

So now, I’m waiting for the night to end and the day to start with the expectation that it will work and we’ll be the better for being back in class.

Prayers appreciated and hope lifted!
