I can only imagine…a song by MercyMe that brings so many thoughts to my mind.

What will it be like when I’m standing in Your presence?  I picture radiant light . . . warmth . . . over- powering love.

I’m sure there will be MUSIC and LOVED ONES and JOY and WELCOME and HUGS.

Comfort, Fellowship, and Praise!

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

Will conversations be necessary or will we merely think and be heard?  I have conversations all the time in my mind.  Wouldn’t it be lovely to have conversations in other people’s minds.

The angels sing in worship and I’m sure we will too.  Can you imagine everyone singing together and understanding what’s being said.  Will we all share the same language?

Will we want to touch and be held?   I picture a mother and father holding their infant child.  People holding hands and wrapping their arms around one another.  The comfort of touch is such a beautiful feeling.  I can imagine that when we are in our true home that we’ll touch and hug.

It always makes me smile when people say, “When I get to heaven I’m going to ask God about….”

I don’t think we’ll care about what questions we had while in our earthly bodies when we are in the presence of our King.  We will have conversations . . . but questions?  I hope while in heaven our loved ones watch over those still on earth and are in prayer for those who continue with trials in life.  After all they are with God who hears the prayers.

Will food and water be necessary?  I don’t think it will be as nourishment for energy, but maybe for joy.  Living water & banquets!

I hope that heaven has the beauty of spring on earth.  Flowers, colors, beautiful smells and all the tranquility that comes with a beautiful day.  Yes, I’m even hoping for a hammock.

We’ll wait in anticipation for God to create the New Earth where we will have our new bodies and the world will be without sin as it was intended.

I can only imagine …. as we wait on our Lord.
